My approach to therapy is rooted in the concept of dialectics- the idea that two seemingly opposing things can be true at the same time. I’m here to support you in both accepting yourself as you are in this moment, and working towards creating positive changes in your life.

Hi, I’m Katie

I’m a therapist in Richmond, VA with over 12 years of experience in both non-profit and private practice settings. I have specific experience and expertise in supporting adults with PTSD and complex trauma. I also enjoy working with folks who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD (particularly with late-diagnosed women), grief, and those who are just struggling to survive as a person living in the U.S. in the 2020s.

I also have a special interest in supporting people who are in the process of working through religious trauma and deconstruction.

I’m here to create a safe space to walk alongside you and offer my tools and expertise as you process your experiences, create a new normal, and connect to community. You are lovable. You are deserving. And I'm here to not just tell you these things, but to help you get to a place where you can fully believe to your core that they're true.

My approach to therapy is integrative, and I choose interventions that are tailored to your treatment goals. I’m fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also weave parts work, attachment theory, DBT, mindfulness, and creative interventions into therapy for holistic healing.

I offer virtual appointments for folks located in the state of Virginia, as well as in person sessions at my office location in the heart of the Fan District in RVA.

As a provider and in “real life”, I am:

  • LGBTQ-allied and affirming

  • welcoming to all parts of who you are as a person— race, gender identity, culture, body size, religion, and ability

  • knowledgeable and affirming of various types of neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD)
